Owned by the State of Iowa, the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) is a statewide fiber optics network. Hospitals, state and federal government, public defense armories, libraries, schools, and higher education institutions utilize the system to communicate via high quality, full-motion video; high-speed Internet connections; and telephones. Although only authorized users can access the system, the ICN has proven to be an indispensable training tool to businesses around the state.
